Information Technology

OC Information Technology (OC-IT) is the central information technology department for Olympic College, responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the OC’s IT infrastructure, resources, and services. OC-IT provides critical ​technology support to all three campuses.  OC-IT’s responsibilities include:

  • Working with academic and administrative units to evaluate IT requirements, capabilities, and requests.
  • Managing IT infrastructure and services, including administrative systems and information management, networking, telecommunications, data centers, information security and privacy, academic and collaborative applications, computing infrastructure, IT services and strategic sourcing, accessible technology, customer service, and technology business continuity.
  • Working with the President, students, employees and appropriate governance committees to determine IT strategies, policies, priorities, and resource allocations.
  • Representing OC's IT interests at the state level.

About Student Checkout Laptops

  • The IT Help Desk has 20 laptops available for students to check out.
  • Laptops are checked out on a first come, first served basis.
  • The laptops can be checked out by students taking classes at any of Olympic College's campuses (Bremerton, Poulsbo, or Shelton).
  • Laptops can be checked out for entire quarters but are only checked out for one quarter at a time.

 

Qualifications to Checkout a Laptop​

  • Students must be currently enrolled at Olympic College or taking classes at Olympic College through a partner college such as WWU, WSU, ODU, or Brandman University.
  • Students must pay the Olympic College Student Tech Fee.
  • Students will need there Student ID card, as well as a current form of government-issued ID such as a driver's license, military ID, or passport.

 

How to Checkout a Laptop

  • Call or email the IT Help Desk and ask to be added to the laptop checkout list.
  • Provide the IT Help Desk with your contact information.
  • If no more laptops are available to be checked out, your name will be added to the waitlist.

 

What Happens After I Am Added to the List?

  • When a laptop becomes available, you will be contacted to pick it up from one of our IT locations on the Bremerton, Poulsbo, or Shelton campuses.
  • You will be required to attend a pre-scheduled walkthrough workshop when you come to pick up the laptop.
  • When checking out a laptop, you will be required to sign the ​STFCIO - IT Resource Use Agreement.
